Best Puerto Rican food in the area. Great value to food ratio. Try the alcapurias... arroz con chuletas.

They make great Puerto Rican fare and are always very friendly. The food is almost always great, but every once in a while, their tostones taste as if they've been in the warmer for a while.

A fantastic restaurant!!! Fun atmosphere and the owner is so happy, helpful and accommodating! The food was to die for!!! Try the mafungo, Cuban sandwich and Flan!!!! Can't say enough good things about this restaurant!!!!

Food was good and service was even better. Will definitely eat there again. Salsa was very good with chips as was queso

Listen! I have no idea what has taken me so long to eat at La Isla Bonita! I ordered through DoorDash. When my food showed up, it was still steaming. I have never had a restaurant where I ordered from DoorDash and the food showed up still hot and steaming like I'm dining in! I appreciated that so much. I still wasn't ready for what came next. I tried the steak first. Speechless. The pork is what I tasted next. Floored. Then the rice and empanada; both were really tasty as well. The portions are good and filling. I can't wait to go back. This place has been on my radar for years, and I'm mad it took me so long to get to this delicious food.

Small inside but food and service was amazing. Food came out hot and fresh and in a timely manner. Waitress was super friendly especially since it was my 1st time there she explained everything I asked. They also serve cold beer

I got a Cubano sandwich best I had better than Porto's if your in town on vacation this is a must visit restaurant

Went in at around 12 on a Friday. As we were eating, more and more people started to come in with some limited table space, so I'd advise either not going at peak hours, calling ahead, or doing takeout. The service was good, our server (and others) checked in semi-often, but they weren't far away so they were easily available. The staff was very friendly. We ordered the tripleta sandwich ($17.95), a lunch special ($16?), a cheese empanada ($2.25), passion fruit juice ($3.50), and malta ($2.25). The tripleta was a bit on the dry side, but that's more so my doing since I can't really do condiments and the sandwich comes with both mayo and mustard which I omitted. However, even without the condiments I thought the sandwich was good. The tripleta is actually pretty large, so I had 1/3 left that I was able to bring home and eat at a later date. The sauces (salsas?) that were served with our meals sort of fit with the sandwich, but I wasn't totally into their flavor so I didn't use them. Also, I wasn't expecting the sandwich to be on a more flat-bread type bread... I was kind of expecting a torta-style bread, which I suppose is my fault for mixing up my sandwiches. However, the flat-bread-ish bread was probably more beneficial since the sandwhich was already pretty hefty from the meat. The passion fruit juice for sure tasted home-made, or at the very least more natural. I was pretty pleased with it. My partner got the cheese empanada, the malta, and the lunch special. He enjoyed his cheese empanada, and I took a bite and.. it was y'know.. cheese and fried dough. For his lunch special he got yellow rice with peas, steak with onions, and sweet plantains. His steak was essentially my steak, so it was pretty good. He slathered it with the green sauce (salsa verde?) that was served before our meal, and he was very happy with the combination. He really liked his sweet plantains, and I enjoyed them too (surprising for me since I normally don't enjoy them). He ended up fishing everything except his steak, so he saved that for later. I'll have to admit, it wasn't the most flavorful experience, but I wasn't entirely displeased by the food. It was a nice experience and I'd likely return if someone else wanted to, but I'm not sure I'd come on my own. However, my partner loves this place and was very excited to eat there, so take this review as you will. I would probably give this place a 3.5, but I rounded up since he likes it more. ---------- Over all: My ratings: **Cheese empanada: 4/10 **Tripleta sandwich: 7/10 **Sweet plantains: 10/10 **Passion fruit juice: 7/10 His ratings: **Cheese empanada: 6/10 **Lunch special: 8.5/10 Service: 9.5/10 Total: ~$42+

Very sweet family running this business. The food reminds of being back home in Jersey
